Welcome to Devon's Pool School, and home of the Cloud Billiard Mental Management System! We offer several billiard courses meant for every level of player. If you are here, you are most likely looking for ways to improve your game.
Let me start by saying that taking the next step is always the hardest... actually committing to the idea of becoming a student. With that in mind, I will tell you that when it comes to the best bang for your buck, instruction is by far a better way to spend your money if your goal is to get better at pool.
You can fall for the old hustler "gambling is learning" adage and let them fleece your wallet in hopes of obtaining little tidbits of information, you can spend money on new cues or accessories that make you look the part but don't really do much for your game, or just spend countless hours at the pool hall practicing and practicing with no true goals in mind - just trying to get better.
If you want to get better quicker however, you have to learn to practice smart. That is what instruction offers you. While you won't learn to be a fantastic player overnight, you will be given all the proven tools that will get you there provided you dedicate yourself to learning the smart way.
So, with that in mind... please review the courses that are available below. As with any sport, you need to be proficient at the mechanics of this sport. Without a proper delivery system, all the pool tricks and knowledge mean absolutely nothing in terms of making you a good pool player.
Along with that proficiency in your fundamentals comes the knowledge of how to use your brain to develop the most efficient strategy to get your skills where they need to be, and that is what Mental Management is all about.

Founded by Instructor Devon Cloud after two years of Mental Management study, this course is for the player that wants to master that ninety percent of the game everyone talks about but never trains for.
You know how players often talk about dead stroke being this mystical thing that just sort of happens randomly on occasion? Sometimes I wonder what those people would say during those conversations if you asked them what it would be worth to them to be able to control when dead stroke occurs and see what they would say.
As it turns out, you can actually do things to control that mystical beast and call upon it more often during play. While mental management hits many topics in pool, this is the main focus of the course.
You will also learn how to allow your subconscious take over your shot process, practice in the most efficient and practical ways possible, fight through frustration, release anxiety and use pressure to your advantage. Mental Management has been around for years in other sports... Devon has simply brought this to the American Amateur pool player in a well thought out course.
The fundamentals of the sport are without a doubt the most important factor of learning this sport. We find that over 80% of students that come to us THINK they understand good mechanics, but find they have been doing many things wrong that has hindered their improvement.
The most popular course prior to the addition of mental management, this course is all about learning proper mechanics all the way down to the proper eye patterns. It is the building blocks of all other courses.
Our Mechanics are based of the SPF (Set/Pause/Finish) methodology founded by Master Instructor Randy "Pops" Goettlicher, and is by far the most efficient and fundamentally sound mechanics methodology in pocket billiards.
At the very least, you owe it to yourself to allow us to evaluate your mechanics using stroke analyzing software to show you what you are doing right and what could use some improvement... at least then you can decide if this course is for you with the knowledge of how well you are really performing.
Prerequisite: A good understanding and ability to perform the basic fundamentals.
This course is meant to add the advanced mechanics techniques needed that are not covered in your normal mechanics routine. These techniques which are needed often in situations where you cannot stroke normally are just as important to learn to the point of unconscious competence as your regular mechanics routine and must be performed just as flawlessly. This course shows the advanced student the most efficient drills and practice routines to understand flawless mechanics in any situation including finesse shots, cueing over balls or rails, jumping, and understanding squirt, throw and masse' shots.
